Derbyshire Libraries- mobile and global-helps readers and translators!

Let’s hear it for Derbyshire libraries-not only does the mobile library van toil up my lane on a weekly basis delivering books to readers in our hamlet, but membership of the library also gives you access to several fantastic online resources from the comfort of your own home, including the marvellous Oxford Language Dictionaries Online (also known as OLDO). These provide translation and linguistic information from six languages, namely French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Chinese and are a precious resource! ( Don’t spend too long sitting back in admiration- the mobile library service is about to be cut as a result of cuts to local authorities. Here are the options for the revised service. There has been public consultation on the options; as I understand it, the first round of public consultation is now closed, but the second round will be open shortly, so make your views known! )
