Tour de Sheffield- Paperback Rider

Off the Shelf have contributed to la Folie du Tour with a wonderful installation in the Winter Gardens in Sheffield. It’s a book opened at a double page with a poem by Helen Mort, the present Derbyshire Poet Laureate, celebrating the final stages of the 2eme etape of the Tour, the Stage from York to Sheffield, the descent from emerald Bradfield to the northern Sheffield suburbs, from country to city. On the right hand side a bicycle bursts out of the page, from a translation of the poem into French by Livvy Hanks, morphing out of the page onto the bicycle, the words tearing away in the race. An ingenious idea and if you can’t read the words here, get down to the Winter Gardens!
